October 4 - a little bit later

We finally have furniture!!!

Grampa, Uncle Ron and Mom MacRae arrived yesterday morning with a truck full of goodies. We now own a really lovely striped loveseat ("one you'd actually consider buying if you saw in a store!" says Mom), three lamps, a television made in 1991, a box of confusing knick-knacks, a great set of plastic storage drawers, a bench made from the headboard of a bed, and a country-themed throw. It was a fabulous adventure!

And that adventure happened just an hour before Mel's audition for Halifax Feast. The artistic director, at the end of the audition, said "Melanie, my dear, you are the real deal!". Thank god - years of this "being fraudulent" business is starting to wear thin! But she must have impressed them; they invited both of us to be their guests at the show last night. After the show, the music director said that Mel's audition actually had her worried about her own job. Now that's a compliment! We'll see what happens when the "phone call" comes in...

In other news, Maeby seems to be settling in nicely. So is Brad. :)
